Between working at Delish and considering ‘eating’ one of my top hobbies, I’ve gotten to try a lot of crazy, over-the-top foods this year. I feel seriously spoiled, and out of all of the dishes I’ve tried, some stand out as clear winners (others are more WTF?!).

Here are the ones I can’t get out of my head, and I’m basically begging you to try them too, so we can collectively geek out over each one.

Sweet and Salty Milkshake

Black Tap's Sweet & Salty Milkshake

Black Tap Craft Burgers and Beer has become a viral hit, thanks to its insane freakshakes, which sell for $15 apiece. If you’re going to wait in the 2-hour line outside of its Manhattan bar, there’s only one shake worth ordering: The Sweet ‘N Salty. It’s loaded with M&Ms, peanut butter, chocolate syrup, Reese’s cups and pretzel rods — and you could easily share it with seven of your closest friends.

Pickle-Ice Pops

Yes, this is basically frozen pickle brine. With extra electrolytes. But if you love that vinegar-y, tangy flavor, you’ll go crazy for these pops, which are popping up in grocery stores all over the Southeast U.S.

Bacon, Egg and Cheese Bagels

The Bagel Store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, may be known for popularizing the rainbow bagel, but its best dish is the bacon, egg and cheese bagel. The egg bagel is loaded with shredded cheddar cheese and chunks of crispy bacon, and it’s even better when it’s sandwiching more bacon, cheese and scrambled huevos.

Smoked Maple Syrup

As soon as you unscrew the lid of this syrup, a smoky-sweet scent fills the room, and it’s only half as good as the actual flavor of this syrup. You could put it on pancakes, but it’s much better as a glaze or marinade for chicken, barbecue or drizzled on roasted vegetables. It’s sold online and at these retailers nationwide.

The Cheesy Todd

If you make it through more than a third of this burger, I applaud you. And still, you should order this behemoth. This ground beef patty is topped with the classics: cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato, pickles and bacon. The one quirk? The buns are made out of fried jalapeno mac & cheese. No, really.

It’s gooey, cheesy and insanely decadent, and you could easily turn this calorie-bomb into multiple meals. Find it at Datz in Tampa, FL.
