Maybe it’s my Florida upbringing, but I feel most like myself in the summer. The glorious feeling of the sun on my skin again (the sun! It does exist!), sliding on flip flops before dashing out the door, lazy afternoons at the beach — it’s the life I’m most familiar with, and the world I’m most comfortable in.
That also means that I have a minor obsession with all things summer. Price aside, if I could pack a weekend getaway bag, these would be my must-haves:
- Navy romper, Hollister; $35
- Wood-framed Sunglasses, Pacsun; $15
- Gray Malin x Sperry Tennis Shoes, Sperry; $75 (Love the fun beach print on these!)
- Lucky Brand Triple Layer Necklace, Amazon; $12
- Tile Item Finder, Amazon; $25 (Attach it to anything — phone, keys, Lisa Frank Trapper Keeper — and if it’s ever lost, your phone can find it via GPS. No more rummaging!)
- Watermelon cooler bag, Ban.do; $32
- Sun Bum Sunscreen, Amazon; $15 (Have to show some FL love for this Cocoa Beach-based company.)
- The Crossroads of Should and Must by Elle Luna, Amazon; $12
As much as I love nonfiction (evidenced, highlighted and underscored by the Tuesday Takeaway series), I can’t resist a good beach reads. Are there any books you’ve loved lately that I should check out?
