Even though Netflix’s series, Wednesday, didn’t premiere until a month after Thanksgiving, it was already generating tons of buzz as a Halloween costume (with searches up 120 percent then). Since then, interest in Wednesday Addams’s looks have only snowballed, inspiring the whole “soft goth” trend (aka a muted smoky eye and lip).
A black collared dress is a quintessential Wednesday-inspired outfit, but the show opened us up to so many more options: namely, plenty of Pugsley-esque stripes, loose cropped pants and chunky boots, as well as that incredible black lace number she wore to the school dance.
Beyond that, the look is pretty simple to nail, provided you (or someone you know) can master a basic braid. And even if you can’t do that, no worries—we’ve got a wig that’s taken care of the braids and bangs for you.
